When Pope Francis sees President Donald Trump at his funeral, he will probably roll around in his grave.
Francis cared for the vulnerable. He cared about climate change caused by human actions because he saw the Earth as vulnerable and foresaw that is the poor of this world will suffer the most from injury to the planet.
He cared for the poor and the migrants and people in prison. He cared for those who are being slaughtered in war. He called for the war in Gaza to end — to stop the genocide of the Palestinians. He showed no animus to the LGBTQ people, asking who he was to judge them.
Pope Francis held the Golden Rule as a sacred obligation handed down from Jesus Christ.
Trump does worship his own kind of "Golden Rule," but it’s the one where those who have the gold makes the rules.
