ST. LOUIS — Aldermen are homing in on their top priorities for the city’s $250 million share of the NFL Rams settlement. Â
A recent survey run by the board garnered responses from nearly 3,200 residents, many of whom complained of inadequate city services, car damage from poorly maintained roads, and delays in 911 response.
And on Friday, Alderwoman Alisha Sonnier, who is chairing the effort to gather public input on the matter, introduced a resolution noting the survey results and listing some other priorities the board could tackle with the settlement money.

For instance, Sonnier’s resolution says that the city needs to increase wages and benefits for its workers to fulfill residents’ needs, tackle a backlog of needed upgrades to an aging water system, and make easier for city residents to find childcare.Â
It also says that improving road safety and catalyzing downtown reinvestment should be priorities.Â
Aldermen are now asking the public to help them decide which specific policy ideas would best address their priorities. Residents can give their input online at stlouis.citizenlab.co.
Aldermen are scheduled to hold their next hearing on the Rams money at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2. The location is still to be determined.Â
