A now-closed coffee shop owes more than $50,000 in back rent, according to a lawsuit filed with 最新杏吧原创 County court last week.
Deer Creek Coffee owes its former landlord about $51,134, according to the lawsuit filed by CE Boulevard Phase 1 LLC.
The landlord entered into a lease agreement with Java Moes LLC, doing business as Deer Creek Coffee, in 2017.聽
CE Boulevard owns The Boulevard shopping center in Richmond聽Heights, where Deer Creek Coffee聽closed its doors in May 2023.聽
CE Boulevard demanded the money by June 2023, but Java Moes failed to make the payments, so the landlord is asking the court for $51,134, plus interest and additional fees, the suit reads.聽
Java Moes and Deer Creek Coffee is run by Kent McCarty, a Mississippi state representative who owns five Java Moe鈥檚 Coffee locations in southern Mississippi. When reached by phone on Monday, McCarty said he did not want to comment on the matter.聽
