The board has not released details about the investigation of former superintendent Keisha Scarlett, who was fired in September after one year leading the district. Borishade is one of at least nine current or former SLPS administrators hired under Scarlett with connections to the exiled superintendent.
Before arriving with Scarlett from Seattle in July 2023, Borishade worked for a charter school group and five other school districts between Illinois and Washington. Borishade鈥檚 superintendent certificates in both states are expired.
Borishade鈥檚 salary was $230,000 as of July 1 in her role as deputy superintendent. She does not have a contract with SLPS, according to Mona Hamid, custodian of records. The school board has not said if they plan to conduct a search for a permanent superintendent.
