With air travel mostly halted throughout the Middle East, the conflict that started Saturday stranded travelers in multiple countries besides Iran and Israel.聽
The war in the Middle East spiraled further Monday as Israel and the U.S. pounded Iran. President Trump said the campaign would likely take several weeks.
Oil prices rose sharply Monday as disruptions to tanker traffic raised uncertainty about how U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran would affect supply to the world economy.
Typical of an unconventional presidency, the Trump administration waited more than 48 hours to communicate to the American people about why it decided to go to war with Iran.
