CLAYTON — ×îÐÂÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ County will consider updating a tax break deal for a long-delayed music production facility in Chesterfield after the owners said they need more time to finish the project.

The amended deal would give Gateway Studios half off personal property taxes until the end of 2032 and real property taxes for 10 years after completion, according to the letter.
Gateway Studios also wants the council to approve an amendment allowing the company to take advantage of financing for energy-efficient and renewable energy construction.
The council initially approved tax incentives in 2021 for the 300,000-square-foot construction project at 900 Spirit Boulevard. Gateway Studios is expected to offer sound stages, green screen studios and other services to support stadium and arena concert tours.
But the project was delayed because of shortages in building materials. The council approved a renewed agreement in 2022. The company expects to create 100 full-time jobs.
Earlier this year, a fight between the project’s general contractor and Gateway Studios once again caused delays.
On Tuesday, Gateway Studios’ CEO, Trey Kerr, said construction is underway with a new contractor, Chesterfield-based AJ Brown, Inc.
