ST. LOUIS 鈥 A 43-year-old man has been arrested for the abduction and murder of a woman taken from her Clayton apartment building Wednesday morning, police said Saturday.
The man, Anjuan Mosby of Florissant, faces 20 felony charges for allegedly kidnapping Michelle Hampton from her building, forcing her to withdraw money from her bank accounts and killing her in an alley in north 最新杏吧原创.
Police in court documents said Mosby admitted to the crimes after officers arrested him. Police said he was arrested Friday afternoon in 最新杏吧原创 but did not give more details.
Mosby was being held Saturday night in the city jail downtown. Circuit Judge Paula Perkins Bryant denied him bond.

Investigators believe that the suspect and victim knew each other, police said. Clayton police previously said that Hampton was 鈥渟pecifically targeted and there are no indications of any further threat to the Clayton community.鈥
The victim鈥檚 sister and twin, Samantha Hampton, previously told the Post-Dispatch she went to her sister鈥檚 apartment building on Whitburn Drive Wednesday morning and saw her sister in the driver鈥檚 seat of her SUV with a masked man in the passenger seat.
She said her sister then drove away with the masked man in the vehicle, as Samantha followed with her two 15-year-old sons in her vehicle. A yellow truck was on her vehicle鈥檚 tail.
Samantha called police, but stopped pursuing her sister after the passenger in Michelle鈥檚 SUV shot at her, shattering the driver鈥檚 side window of her car, according to police.
Police did not explain when or where Michelle and her armed passenger switched vehicles, but said Michelle was brought to at least three different banks in the yellow truck. Officers later found Michelle鈥檚 Nissan Rogue with a shell cartridge casing inside it.
Each of the bank transactions were captured on video, which showed Michelle in the back seat of the truck.
She attempted to withdraw $10,000 from PNC Bank on Page Boulevard, but the bank denied the request and instead gave her $2,000.
Then she made a $1,000 withdrawal at the Bank of America on Lindell Boulevard. The third bank, a PNC on Chippewa Street, requested that she come inside to withdraw money. The yellow truck then drove off, according to court documents.
At 11 a.m. Wednesday, four hours after the reported abduction, Michelle was found shot to death in an alley in the 4700 block of Greer Avenue in the Kingsway East neighborhood 鈥 about 8 miles from her Clayton apartment building.
Police said she was shot multiple times with what appeared to be a handgun. The alleged murder was captured on surveillance footage, police said.
At a time not specified by police, officers found the yellow truck in an abandoned residence. In a dumpster nearby, they said, they found a coat similar to a coat the shooter wore at the time of the murder. It had his DNA on it.
Police said Mosby was arrested after 鈥渉is car was spiked.鈥 Police didn鈥檛 explain where that happened and whether there was a pursuit. Police said they found a rifle and suspected narcotics inside.
Mosby waived his Miranda rights, police said. In addition to admitting to the fatal shooting, police said, he also confirmed that he was the passenger in Michelle鈥檚 car and to forcing her to withdraw money, according to court records.
A police spokesman declined to say whether police had additional suspects.
In a news release Saturday, police said Mosby also faces a federal charge of kidnapping resulting in death. The charge did not appear in the online federal courts records system by 6 p.m.
Michelle was the mother of a 14-year-old girl. She also adopted Samantha鈥檚 twin 15-year-old boys and 7-year-old son.
Loved ones of Michelle could not be reached for comment Saturday.
