Onder closed on the purchase of the 217-acre office complex at West Florissant and Lucas and Hunt Road on June 9, just days before his contract was set to expire, real estate records show.聽

He bought the campus through a limited liability company called Next Revolution Technologies. State records show he formed that company in April.聽

It is not clear what will become of the campus after Ferguson city officials in May rejected $1.5 billion in tax incentives for Onder's proposal to redevelop the property into a technology hub and data center.聽

Onder, a personal injury attorney,聽did not respond to a request for comment Tuesday.聽

For weeks leading up to the city's decision, residents had packed public meetings to voice opposition to his technology hub plan. Their concerns centered on the potential for the data center聽鈥� which already exists on the campus聽鈥� to increase utility bills, cause pollution and result in Ferguson losing out on tax dollars.

Onder had said after the vote that his project is 鈥渘ot competitive鈥� with similar developments in other areas of the country without the incentives. He declined to say whether the project would move on with without聽the subsidies.

Industrial technology company Emerson had occupied the property since the 1940s before it downsized to an office in Clayton. It transferred the property to Copeland, an air conditioning and refrigeration business Emerson spun off in 2023 as part of the two firms鈥� separation agreement.

A Copeland spokeswoman told the Post-Dispatch last year that the campus was too big for its 350 local employees and that it was looking for a new headquarters. The spokeswoman said the company had a 鈥渧ery strong preference鈥� to remain in the 最新杏吧原创 region.

The company on Tuesday said it plans to stay on the campus through a long-term lease agreement.聽

The property features 11 buildings spanning nearly 1 million square feet of space. It also has four tennis courts, two softball fields, a helipad, playground and is near a Norfolk Southern railroad line.

Onder's acquisition of the campus was the largest in the second quarter of the year, according to research from real estate firm Colliers.聽

A sales price was not immediately available. Earlier this year, Onder had said he intended to buy it for $18 million.聽
