An Austin-based theater chain plans to open its first 最新杏吧原创 location next year in the Lawrence Group鈥檚 City Foundry development.
Cinema says it will add a 10-screen, 942-seat theater in the development planned at 3700 Forest Park Parkway on the site of the former Century Electric factory complex.
The announcement marks the first major tenant to confirm plans to lease space in the 最新杏吧原创-based Lawrence Group鈥檚 $187 million development. Wednesday, the Lawrence Group announced other tenants that will open at City Foundry: a Fassler Hall beer hall with rooftop beer garden, a Punch Bowl Social gaming and dining venue, and the Food Hall at City Foundry, which includes spaces for 20 eateries.聽

Alamo Drafthouse will feature recliners with footrests and in-theater food and drink service. The complex will also include a full service bar and restaurant with almost 50 beers on tap.
鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to become a part of the 最新杏吧原创 film community at large as well as a part of the vibrant City Foundry STL project,鈥 Alamo Drafthouse founder and CEO Tim聽League said in an announcement about the location.
Alamo Drafthouse was founded in 1997 and has since grown to 29 locations. The company said it expects to hire about 175 people to staff its 最新杏吧原创 location.
Lawrence Group CEO Steve Smith said remediation of the former industrial site last operated by Federal Mogul is complete and construction should start by late spring or early summer. 最新杏吧原创-based S.M. Wilson is the general contractor and much of the work has already been bid, Smith said.聽

"We've got our construction teams ready to go," he said.聽
He expects to finalize leases with retail and office tenants soon, which should trigger a closing on the development's financing package. Lawrence Group is working with CIBC Bank as the lead construction lender.聽
A 最新杏吧原创 economic development agency signed off Tuesday on an agreement with the 最新杏吧原创 Midtown Redevelopment Corp. to provide 15 years of property tax breaks to the City Foundry development鈥檚 first phase (95 percent abatement for 10 years and 50 percent for the next five years). The聽聽can provide tax abatement to help guide development around its campus, but the city wanted a say on the City Foundry incentives. 最新杏吧原创 already approved聽聽for the first phase.
The entertainment venues announced this week, along with future retail and office tenants, will each take up about a third of the space in City Foundry's 334,000 square-foot first phase, Smith said, which should be complete around mid 2019.聽
The food hall, which will occupy the main factory building on the site and feature local chefs, has nearly half of its spaces spoken for, Smith said.聽
Among those planning to take a stall in the City Foundry food hall, according to Smith:聽Britt and Kevin Pellegrino, both formerly of Olive & Oak, plan a Filipino concept; Matt Borchardt of Edibles and Essentials plans a taco eatery; Jason and Maria Sparks of Layla plan a Middle Eastern concept;聽Brendan Marsden of Whitebox Eatery wants to open a salad and health food stall;聽Natalie DuBose of Natalie's Cakes and More wants to open a bakery; Tamara Keefe of Clementine's Naughty and Nice Creamery wants to offer ice cream at the food hall; and聽Michael Friedman, who recently left Retreat Gastropub, plans a juice concept as well as another food stall.
