Alex Atkins, senior, Parkway West

Brought home a quartet of top-four medals from the Class 1 state meet last season. The All-Metro second-team selection earned a runner-up showing in the 100-yard backstroke and also posted a third-place finish in the 50 freestyle, while also helping the Longhorns to a runner-up finish in the 400 free relay and a fourth-place finish in the 200 medley relay.

Henry Hassenstab, senior, SLUH

Hassenstab earned a Class 2 state meet runner-up finish in the 100-yard butterfly and won the consolation final of the 500 freestyle last fall. The All-Metro third-team pick also helped the Junior Billikens to a second-place showing in the 400 free relay and a third-place effort in the 200 medley relay.

Connor Muran, senior, Parkway Central

Played a huge part in the Colts’ fourth consecutive Class 1 team state championship with a quartet of first-place finishes last season. The repeat All-Metro first team selection won both the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke titles, and, for the third straight season, he was also a key piece of the Colts’ state champion 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.

Max Van Stone, senior, Chaminade

Once again proved he is one of best divers in state history last fall with his third straight Class 2 one-meter diving state championship in as many tries for the state champion Red Devils. The three-time All-Metro first-team selection became just the 14th boys diver to break the 500-point mark at the state meet, and his point total of 567.05 established a new Class 2 record. Van Stone has given a verbal commitment to Princeton.

Gavin Waser, senior, Summit

Waser posted a pair of top-six finishes for the Falcons at the Class 1 state meet last season. The All-Metro third-team selection earned a Class 1 runner-up showing in the 100-yard breaststroke and garnered a sixth-place effort in the 50 freestyle.
