Simply put, Utley is a scorer. The Player of the Year candidate had 12 goals and 21 assists as a sophomore, earning second-team All-Metro recognition. She followed up with 34 goals and eight assists a year ago, picking up first-team honors. A multi-sport athlete who helped establish Pattonville as an area power, Utley was among the area scoring leaders this season with 27 goals and 21 assists. Her soccer career will continue at West Virginia.

A creative attacker, Rodriguez (17 goals, 19 assists) set the tone for the Class 2 champions, who outscored opponents 133-10. She excelled down the stretch, coming up with seven goals and seven assists in six postseason matches. She had two goals and an assist in a 3-0 semifinal win over Helias and assisted on the lone goal in the title-game win over Rosati-Kain.
F: Jade Klump, jr., Visitation

Klump provides a rare combination of size and speed. She had 10 goals and 12 assists as a freshman and 24 goals and 13 assists a year ago, helping the Vivettes win back-to-back state championships. This spring, she scored 25 goals and had eight assists. Committed to Kentucky.

A third-team selection after a 24-goal, 11-assist junior campaign, Wagoner scored 26 goals, including 10 game-winners. She also helped the 18-6 Trojans capture a share of their first GAC South title. She'll play for Missouri-Kansas City.Â

One of the area's more versatile athletes, McGhee is a returning first-teamer who also earned All-Metro honors in basketball, where she averaged 20.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.1 steals and 4.4 assists. She's also all-league in softball, and was the Suburban Journals female athlete of the year for the metro area. Her soccer throw-ins are legendary, as is her competitiveness. McGhee (7 goals, 17 assists) will focus on basketball at Missouri State.
M: Mel Donaldson, jr., Incarnate Word

A repeat first-team selection, Donaldson set the pace in the middle of the field for the Red Knights. She is strong on the ball, deadly on free kicks and possesses an uncanny knack for finding open teammates. Donaldson, who posted 10 goals and three assists, has committed to Missouri.
M: Nicole Breece, sr., Parkway South

The leader of a youthful squad, Breece had 15 goals and 10 assists. She is a highly skilled attacker and playmaker comfortable up front or in the midfield. She possesses one of the area's more dangerous throw-ins. One of four first-teamers from the Kolping Kicks squad that was national runner-up, she will play at Illinois.
D: Kelsey Clayman, sr., Lafayette

A repeat first-team selection, Clayman also earned All-Metro honors in field hockey by helping the Lancers capture their first state title. Her strong play and leadership in the back set the tone as the 14-4 Lancers allowed just 11 goals. Lafayette's Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete will play soccer at Harvard.
D: Emily Bollinger, sr., Cor Jesu

Always cool under pressure, Bollinger played sweeper and anchored the backfield for the Class 3 champion Chargers, who posted 14 shutouts and allowed only 14 goals. Cor Jesu was especially strong down the stretch, giving up one goal in six postseason matches. Another Kolping Kicks standout, Bollinger will join former teammate Liz Sinclair at South Carolina.
D: Haley Albert, sr., Eureka

A player of the year candidate, Albert was a force in the middle. At 6 foot 1, she is a hard-nosed defender who dominates in the air and gets forward to chip in (8 goals). On the Kolping Kicks club that finished second at nationals last summer, Albert will play for former All-Metro performer Wendy Dillinger at Iowa State.

The Suburban South player of the year, Perry capped a record-setting career by winning 20 games, with 14 shutouts and a 0.98 goals-against average. She has size (5 foot 10), skills and experience. She helped her club team to a runner-up national finish last summer. Signed with Samford.
