The home, built in 1963 and designed by renowned Belleville, Ill.-based architect Charles King, features a covered front entry with original double doors and a skylight. Adam added a vintage phone booth and seating.

A small greenhouse room off the primary bedroom floods the space with light. Shelves of succulents are accented by vintage treasures including a midcentury settee, a rattan tiki bar and a salon hair dryer chair.

One of four bedrooms on the second floor is used as Adam鈥檚 studio. An audiophile and DJ, he created a recording booth in the closet.

The spacious living room is flooded with light from the wall of windows and the sunken rock garden blurs the lines between the indoors and outdoors. More of the couple鈥檚 collected vintage pieces are on display, including an 鈥淎pplause鈥 sign from the original KSHE radio station in Crestwood.
The Esteps kept the kitchen鈥檚 original footprint, while replacing the island and removing some upper cabinets to fully open it to the adjacent dining room. The kitchen features more original details including a suspended zig-zag wine rack and double-sided glass display cabinets.

During renovations, the Esteps discovered the indoor/outdoor koi pond buried under dirt. They dug it out and restored it to its original glory, now outfitted with fountains and life koi fish. They also fully replaced the original single-pane glass wall with double-paned, tempered glass with UV protection
The sunken patio off the living room is a favorite spot to relax while enjoying the shade from more than 60 trees on the surrounding lot.
