ST. CLAIR COUNTY — A 23-year-old man died Thursday morning after his vehicle collided with a garbage truck south of Millstadt.
Caleb Kinzinger of Freeburg was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on a rural stretch of Illinois Highway 158 at Douglas Road, said St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr.
The Illinois State Police responded to the crash at about 6:25 a.m., according to a news release. Illinois 158 north of Douglas Road remained closed for much of the morning.
The crash remains under investigation. No other details were immediately available.
