Pellegrino is working with Dogs Inc, an organization that relies on volunteers to raise puppies to become future guide dogs. 鈥淲hen I started optometry school, I already knew I wanted to go into low vision, which is a very small subset of optometry,鈥 Pellegrino said. 鈥淎fter I got through my first semester of optometry school at UMSL, I decided I would raise a guide dog. School is stressful and dogs can also make that much better too.鈥

aired a package on the success of the Tritons baseball team. Last month, the team celebrated its first Great Lakes Valley Conference title since 2003. Sports Director Frank Cusumano stopped by practice as the team prepared to take on Wayne State in the opening game of the NCAA Division II Tournament. The Tritons bested Wayne State in the Midwest Regional, winning the team鈥檚 first NCAA Tournament game since 1996. But that proved to be the last win for the sixth-seeded Tritons, who then lost 11-1 against second-seeded Illinois Springfield and saw their season come to an end with a 14-11 loss in 10 innings against seventh-seeded Indianapolis on Saturday.
