Through its 鈥淚mpact Close to Home鈥 initiative, Variety is highlighting not only the breadth of that reach, but the lives changed within local communities every day.

An interactive map on 痴补谤颈别迟测鈥檚 website allows visitors to explore the organization鈥檚 impact county by county, showcasing the number of children served over the last five years alongside the stories of local Variety Kids and families.
In 最新杏吧原创 County alone, Variety has served 850 children during this period. Among them is 4-year-old Zuri, who received an augmentative communication device to help her navigate life with childhood apraxia of speech.
鈥淲ith her diagnosis, it can be overwhelming and concerning what the future brings,鈥 her family shared. 鈥淏ut having this device makes the future a bit brighter. She is now able to communicate her needs to us much better.鈥
In Lincoln County, 9-year-old Evelyn, one of over 39 children empowered by Variety, received a power wheelchair and accessories that gave her greater independence and the ability to keep up with family and friends.
And of the 112 children served in St. Clair County, 7-year-old Audrey received a mobility stroller that has allowed her to safely enjoy walking, jogging and spending time outdoors with her family despite the progression of her rare disease.
鈥淭hese stories represent so much more than equipment or services,鈥 Roy said. 鈥淭hey represent children being included, families feeling supported and possibilities that once felt out of reach becoming reality.鈥
