$118 million Arcade renovation on track for December opening

The $118 million renovation of the historic Arcade high-rise downtown is on track to be completed in December, developer Dominium said Wednesday.聽

Minneapolis-based Dominium said the first of 282 apartments at the 聽at 8th and Olive streets was completed at the end of May.聽

The rehab of the Arcade, a property that includes two buildings, will add more than 13,000 square feet of artist studio space and a 19^th floor rooftop terrace.聽

"We are pleased with the progress to date and expect to open the Arcade on time,鈥� Jeff Huggett, vice president and project partner at Dominium, said in a statement. 鈥淐ompleting the first apartment is a major milestone in the renovation process.鈥�

Once completed, Webster University will occupy the first two floors and mezzanine. The university's space includes a 170-seat auditorium, administrative offices and art gallery.
