GRAFTON — Sculptures depicting U.S. Army Rangers scaling the bluff at Pointe du Hoc, France, on D-Day during World War II were installed this past weekend alongside the Mississippi River in Grafton.
Drivers passing by can catch a glimpse of the bronze sculptures mounted on a cliff above the Grafton Visitor Center along Route 100 north of Alton. The National Memorial of Military Ascent will be dedicated on June 6, the anniversary of D-Day.
