Backers of new office space available to startup companies focused on geospatial technology held an event Thursday morning to mark the beginning of construction.
The 14,760-square-foot office space, named the 鈥淕eosaurus, Powered by Bayer鈥 Geospatial Innovation and Resource Center, will be at the T-REX technology incubator at 922 Washington Avenue in downtown 最新杏吧原创.
Bayer, which acquired Creve Coeur-based Monsanto, supplied a $500,000 grant to fund the project, which was announced in mid-2018. The location for the office space was selected due to its proximity to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency鈥檚 new western headquarters, which will be built north of downtown.

鈥淕eosaurus will provide office space for start-up companies focused on geospatial technology, innovation, workforce training and collaborative partnership opportunities with area universities,鈥 Bayer said in a statement. 鈥淚t will also become a talent pipeline for companies like the NGA and Bayer, where agriculture is becoming more reliant on precise mapping data.
