Schlafly Beer, the 最新杏吧原创 area's oldest craft brewery, announced a change in leadership Friday, as Fran Caradonna will shift from the company's CEO to a "consultancy role" for its owners and executives.
Her successor atop the brewery is David Schlafly, elevated from his previous role as vice chair. The precise timing of the change was not immediately clear, nor were the reasons behind the shift. Meanwhile, Schlafly Beer said that day-to-day operations would be managed by Chief Financial Officer Bill Florent.
The brewery declined an interview about the move. And Caradonna聽鈥 who joined Schlafly in 2019 and has spent three decades in the industry 鈥 did not immediately respond to a phone message.
In an announcement, Schlafly shared a message Caradonna sent to the company, saying, "This was a difficult decision, and one聽that I don鈥檛 take lightly. I care deeply about the people, company, and future of Schlafly Beer. The last four and half years will always be the capstone of my career in the beer industry.鈥

Stephen Hale, who formerly worked at the company and was its founding head brewer, spoke highly of Caradonna, based on their overlapping tenures.
鈥淗er time there was pretty fantastic," he said, when reached by phone Friday.
In the company's announcement, David Schlafly thanked Caradonna for her service to the brewery.
"We appreciate Fran鈥檚 commitment to our employees and customers over the last four and a half years, and we are grateful for her support of the brewery now and in the future," he said.聽鈥淚 am now very excited to lead Schlafly Beer into an era that will connect us to a new generation."
Founded in 1991, Schlafly has remained one of the most prominent breweries in the region despite an increasingly crowded microbrewery scene. The company said its beers are currently distributed across 17 states.
