The first 500 customers in line will get an Ikea gift card ranging in value from $5 to $500. Customers can start lining up at 7 a.m., and the store opens at 9:30 a.m.
Once customers get inside the store, they can enjoy 鈥渟everal surprise and delight activities,鈥 according to a press release, special product offers, and $1 desserts in the Ikea restaurant until they run out.
Yes, that includes the chocolate cake.
As a way to give back, Ikea will give away $1 in furniture to a local charity for every customer who comes into the store before 10 a.m. Customers shopping that day can cast a ballot for the charity they would like to see get the donation.

The store employs more than 200 people, is the first Ikea in Missouri, and boasts the state鈥檚 largest rooftop solar array. It鈥檚 at Vandeventer Avenue at Highway 40 (Interstate 64) in the Central West End.
Another reason to celebrate: the store's an anchor for the developing Cortex technology district, where a developer announced plans to overhaul a 1930s Armory into an entertainment venue. Work began recently at the former Federal-Mogul foundry, which will be redone as stores, offices and a food hall.
